As part of our Design and Technology Curriculum, we had a visit from ‘Roots to Food’. Children from across the school took part in fun educational workshops focusing on healthy eating.
The children were engaged throughout the whole cooking process, where they gained hands on experience of cooking a healthy meal from scratch. The children learned and refined cutting techniques whilst making ‘Pesto Chicken Pasta, served with Wilted Greens’. The dish was served with a tomato sauce.
The leader commented that the children showed excellent presentation skills and attention to detail.
The children really enjoyed learning about food and nutrition and have now been inspired to try out more cooking at home!
