The Gateway Primary Academy's Admission Arrangements

 

Please read the document below, which explains the admissions arrangements at The Gateway Primary Academy for children due to start primary school from September 2021. 

Applying for a Primary School Place To start September 2021

 

Applications for applying for a primary school place open on Thursday 5th November 2020 and the closing date for applications is Friday 15th January 2021. You can apply for up to 3 schools and must put them in order of preference. 

 

There are two ways in which you can apply for your child’s primary school place:

  • By completing a paper RCAF (application) form, (available online or from any primary school).

This should be returned to KCC Primary Admissions Team, Sessions House, Maidstone by registered/recorded post.

 

PLEASE NOTE – If you apply online you do not need to submit a paper RCAF form.

 

Online Applications

We recommend that you apply for your child’s place online at: 

http://www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools/school-places where you will find all the relevant information on local schools and advice on the whole application process.

If you apply online your place offer will be sent by email. This will be after 4pm on the 16th April 2021.  It is important that you check your ‘junk’ email inbox too!  You will also receive an offer letter in the post. You can also log in to your online account from 5pm on the 16th April 2021 to view your offer. 

 

Paper/Postal Applications

Your place offer letter will be posted to you by first class mail from the 16th April 2021 and this will contain information on what do next. 

 

 

After you get your school offer

Once you have your school offer, you must ensure you either accept or refuse your school place by the designated date on the Kent County Council Website. For further information please visit:

Admission Appeals 2021

If your child is due to start primary, infant or junior school in 2021, once you have received your school offer you can appeal between set dates (see Kent County Council website for more information) to guarantee that your appeal will be heard by mid July.  For applications made in the normal admission round, appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals.  For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 schools days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 schools days of the appeals being lodged.

 

In Year Admissions

If you wish to move your child to our school within the current school year, you are required to complete an In Year Common Application form and return it to us by email or by post.  We will then write to you advising you of the outcome of your application.
