At The Gateway Primary Academy, we aim to promote good attendance and reduce absence, including: persistent absence. We aim to ensure that every pupil at our school has access to the full-time education to which they are entitled. In our policy below, we outline how we monitor and promote attendance. We also outline our policies on medical appointments and absence in exceptional circumstances.
In the morning, our gates are opened at 8.45 am and the children come straight into school. The gates are closed at 9.00am and the register is taken in class. If your child arrives after 9.00.am they will need to go to the main office and be signed in.
At the end of the day the gates are opened at 3.00pm and parents can collect their children from the Key Stage 1 playground at 3.10pm if their child is in Swans, Herons or Kingfishers. Children in Key Stage 2, Swallows, Woodpeckers, Kestrels and Eagles, can be collected from the Key stage 2 playground at 3.15pm. We advise parents to keep a close eye on younger siblings while waiting and avoid letting them use the outdoor climbing frames for their own safety.
If your child is unwell, please ensure you ring the office and leave a message on the first day of their absence.
