We have been learning about the world's continents, oceans and major cities in Topic. This has involved drawing maps using an Atlas and making 3D landscapes showing the different physical features of the land!
We have also learnt about Climate and Biomes and how these vary across the world. Do you know what a Biome is?
We have also compared different places around the world and presented our findings in PowerPoint presentations.
A big feature of our topic has been recent weather around the world including Hurricane Florence, which gripped us all. We followed the news reports, tracked the hurricane's journey and wrote our very own newspaper reports. You will find our fantastic writing displayed in our classroom.
We also used the Lighthouse Keeper from Literacy Shed to write excellent diary entries!
At the end of half term, we enjoyed writing poetry in the style of Charles Causley and his poem called, 'As I went down the Zig Zag'
During this half term, we took part in an NSPCC assembly and a workshop. This helped us to develop our understanding of the important work this charity does and the role 'Childline Plays' in supporting children. We met with a representative from the NSPCC and discussed lots of important issues and then took part in a sponsored sports event to support the work the NSPCC does.
