Full School Re-Opening from Monday 8th March
Following Boris Johnsons' announcement, we will welcoming all children back to school on Monday 8th March. All children will be expected to attend on a full time basis unless they have been advised to shield or need to isolate for any reason, for example travelling from a country outside the common travel area. Please ensure you inform the office immediately if this is the case and we will arrange for remote learning to continue to be in place for your child.
We understand that this will be both an extremely exciting time for the children and also a potentially very anxious one as well. Please use the resources on your class' google classroom page alongside the resources on our school wellbeing page on our website for additional ideas for supporting your child during this time.
We have reviewed and updated our risk assessment in line with the DFE's full operational guidance published on the 21st February and have uploaded it for your information below.
Over the next week, you will receive ParentMails, which will revisit the arrangements for the school day so please keep an eye out for these. If at any time you have any questions about the return to school or queries about the measures we have in place, please contact the office to discuss using email@example.com.
Our Remote Learning Offer
Please read the document below which sets out approach to remote learning and what to expect for your child's home learning during this time. Alongside our remote learning offer, please take the time to read our behaviour addendum, which explains our behaviour expectations for children working at home and our zoom protocol. Please ensure you discuss these with your children to ensure that we are all working safely when working online during this time. If you have any questions or queries, please contact the school office using firstname.lastname@example.org
Coronavirus - January 2021 Lockdown Information
Please read our updated risk assessment for full information on the steps we are taking to reduce the risk to the children and staff attending school during this period of 'National Lockdown'.
If your child is attending school during this time, please ensure you have spoken to the school office and informed them of the days and times your child will be attending. The times of the school day will remain the same, so please ensure you continue to arrive in your allocated time slot. Children will be expected to wear their full school uniform during this time apart from on PE days. The windows will be open in the classrooms so you may wish to purchase a fleece from the office.
If you have any questions please email the office on email@example.com
Please read our full risk assessment for full information on the steps we have taken to reduce the risk to the children and our staff when returning to school.
Please also read our zoom guidance in preparation for your child's transition zoom meeting with their current class teacher and new class teacher.
As there are a lot of changes at the moment, we have created a parent guide for returning to The Gateway. You will be emailed this pack once it is confirmed your child is returning to school with information about the drop off/collection times as these are currently staggered depending on your child's bubble. This guide will also give you additional information about clothing, lunch and drinks.
Please ensure you sign the home-school agreement at the end of the parent guide and return it either via. email or to the box outside of the office.
