WELCOME
Welcome to the section relating to The Gateway Parents and Friends Association (the PFA).
The PFA is a registered charity (with charity number 1103263) and its charitable purpose is to boost the education of the pupils at the school. The main way the PFA does this is by holding and organising charitable fundraising events and activities, and with the funds raised, the PFA is able to provide facilities and equipment to support the school and the learning of its pupils.
Recent projects funded by the PFA include laptops for Swallows class (year 3), the electronic active board, the large climbing frame and the wooden playhouses in the KS1 playground, the branded school gazebos, the benches in the KS2 playground and the fantastic artificial grass in both playgrounds which has made the playgrounds usable by the children all year round.
The PFA’s current fundraising goal is to raise approximately £10,000 to fund the purchase of new playground equipment for the KS2 playground.
Who is on our committee?
As a parent, guardian or carer of a pupil at the school you are automatically a member of the PFA!
In addition, the PFA has a committee made up of entirely parent volunteers together with the school’s Headteacher, Mr Cassem.
We are thrilled that our committee has recently grown and current committee members (in addition to Mr Cassem) are:
Chair: Sarah Coogan (mum to a Kingfisher and a Kestrel)
Vice Chair: Trish Clinch (mum to a Kestrel)
Treasurer: Kerry Harper (mum to a Heron and an Eagle)

Previous PFA Events
The PFA has held many fun and popular fundraising events in recent years including the annually held Great Gateway Bake-Off and the Summer and Christmas Fairs. The 2019 Summer and Christmas Fairs raised an incredible combined total of £5,095!
Sadly, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the PFA has been unable to run events such as the Summer Fair or the Teddy Bears Picnic which is intended to welcome the new Swans and their parents to the school. Our incredibly popular Christmas Fair will also not be run which we know is a disappointment to many.
We are currently exploring other fundraising options and, as ever, would welcome any suggestions and new ideas.
