Please remember our home learning is always due in on a Thursday and will be sent back out the next day. We also collect reading records in once a week on a Friday.
The children change their books on a daily basis. Please ensure they bring a water bottle into school for fruit and drinks time after play time. Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesdays - please ensure your child comes into school in PE clothes and a school jumper.

London Through Time
The Great Fire of London
This half term, we are learning about The Great Fire of London. We will start the topic by looking at homes over time and discussing how they have changed. We will then look specifically at homes in 1666 and discuss the impact of the fire on houses and how they are built.
Through this topic we will be writing:
During this topic, we will also be completing lots of artwork including making collage houses, fire paintings and charcoal sketches of Samuel Pepys. We will also be completing a TASC project designing and making a fire engine.

An Island Home
During this topic, we learn about Katie Morag's Island Home. We look at the human and physical features of the Isle of Struay. In English we write:
During the topic we will be taking part in a traditional dance workshop, painting locations on the island and developing our map skills linked to the Isle of Struay. We will also be comparing life in Dartford to life on the Isle of Struay.
We thoroughly enjoyed learning our dances for the whole school Christmas show. We worked hard to then practise them for the outdoor performances on the playground.
Material Monsters
This half term our topic is 'Material Monsters'. Our English is based around the books below. Over the half term we will write:
This week in Kingfishers we have been reading and discussing The Gruffalo's Child. We wrote excellent descriptions of The Gruffalo's Child and thought about where she lives, what she looks like and how she acts. In our art lessons, we used coloured clay to make models of her using a range of clay tools.
As a class we read Monstersaurus and then were shocked to discover had visited Gateway. We then worked really hard to write our own story books about The Monster Who Came to School. We then enjoyed really them to Swans,
