DT Term 4
Kestrels worked extremely hard last week to create land yachts. They were given a brief to create a secure structure that can move along ground when subjected to the force of wind. They all worked really well as teams and created some fantastic moving yachts.
Science Term 4
This term we are learning about forces. We have carried out lots of experiments including using our shoes to learn about friction and dropping a feather and a weight at the same time to investigate the impact of gravity. We also made parachutes and tested the impact that surface area had on air resistance.

Kestrels set up their own experiments using a range of materials to test which would make the best thermal insulators. They were accurate in recording their results and analysing what they found out.
Space Homework
We have asked the children to make a 3D models of the Solar System for their homework.

Geography and Computing
Kestrels brought together their computing and research skills with their Geography learning about climate to make fascinating presentations about different countries. They found their own facts and even included images and quizzes to keep their presentations engaging.
We enjoyed taking turns presenting them to one another.
Around the World in 80 Days
Kestrels have been reading Around the World in 80 Days- an adventure story about the travels on Phileas Fogg. They wrote their own fantastic explorer stories and created a brilliant display for the school to enjoy. They are very proud of their work!
