Consultation on the Gateway Primary Academy Admissions Arrangements and Proposed Changes to our Over-Subscription Criteria
The Gateway Primary Academy are consulting to determine their admission arrangements and over-subscription criteria for September 2020.
The consultation period will be from Monday 29th October to Monday 10th December 2018
The second over-subscription criteria is proposed to be:
Children previously in care outside of England
Children who appear to The Gateway Primary Academy to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted. A child is regarded as having been in state care in a place outside of England if they were accommodated by a public authority, a religious organization or any other provider of care whose sole purpose is to benefit society.

Applying for a Primary School Place – September 2018
The closing date for applying for a school place is Monday 15 January 2018
There are two ways in which you can apply for your child’s primary school place:
s online at www.kent.gov.uk/ola the closing date is mid-night on Monday 15 January 2018
s by completing a paper RCAF (application) form, (available online or from any primary school).
This should be returned to KCC Primary Admissions Team, Sessions House, Maidstone by
PLEASE NOTE – If you apply online you do not need to submit a paper RCAF form.
We recommend that you apply for your child’s place online at http://www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools/school-places where you will find all the relevant information on local schools and advice on the whole application process.
Your place offer will be sent by email sometime after 4pm on Monday 16 April 2018. It is important that you check your ‘junk’ email inbox too! You will also receive an offer letter in the post.
Your place offer letter will be posted to you by first class mail on Tuesday 16 April 2018.
Admission Appeals 2018
If your child is due to start primary, infant or junior school in 2018 you can appeal between 16 April and 16 May 2018 to guarantee that your appeal will be heard by 18 July 2018. For applications made in the normal admission round, appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals. For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 schools days of the appeals being lodged.
In Year Admissions
If you wish to move your child to our school within the current school year, you are required to complete an In Year Common Application form and return it to us by email or by post. We will then write to you advising you of the outcome of your application.
