The Gateway Primary Academy admission arrangements for entrance into Reception Year September 2017

Applying for a Primary School  Place  – September 2017

The closing date for applying for a school place is Monday 16 January 2017

There are two ways in which you can apply for your child’s primary school place:

 

s  online at www.kent.gov.uk/ola the closing date is mid-night on  Monday 16  January 2017

Or

s by completing a paper RCAF (application) form, (available online or from any primary school).

   This should be returned to KCC Primary Admissions Team, Sessions House, Maidstone by 

   registered/recorded post.

 

PLEASE NOTE – If you apply online you do not need to submit a paper RCAF form.

 

ONLINE APPLICATIONS

We recommend that you apply for your child’s place online at http://www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools/school-places where you will find all the relevant information on local schools and advice on the whole application process. 

 

Your place offer will be sent by email sometime after 4pm on Tuesday 18 April 2017.  It is important that you check your ‘junk’ email inbox too!  You will also receive an offer letter in the post.

 

PAPER/POSTAL APPLICATIONS

Your place offer letter will be posted to you by first class mail on Tuesday 18 April 2017.

 

 

Admission Appeals 2017

If your child is due to start primary, infant or junior school in 2017 you can appeal between 18 April and 17 May 2017 to guarantee that your appeal will be heard by 19 July 2017.  For applications made in the normal admission round, appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals.  For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 schools days from the deadline for lodging appeals.  For late applications appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 schools days of the appeals being lodged.

 

In Year Admissions

If you wish to move your child to our school within the current school year, you are required to complete an In Year Common Application form and return it to us by email or by post.  We will then write to you advising you of the outcome of your application.
